Safe and Sound

Make sure you tell us if you’ve recently moved, changed your phone number or we need to know about any special requirements you child may have. It’s important that we know so we can make sure we all enjoy our Scouting in a safe way.

We’re all Volunteers

Remember all our Leaders are volunteers and don’t get paid for what they do. They are amazing and we thank them for volunteering.

As well as the Leaders you see we have a whole team including our Group executive, treasurer and administrators. If you’re interested in getting more involved talk to your section leader.

Outdoor Activities and adventure is a core part of the Scouting Programme. It’s about young people trying new things, getting out of their comfort zone and learning skills for life. Through the outdoor and adventure aspects of the Scout Programme, young people can develop greater wellbeing and resilience, which gives them a better chance of having a brighter future.

Scouting is all about building confidence and self-esteem, learning important life skills and leadership skills, team building, outdoor adventure, education, and fun!

For example a camp is the perfect place for Scouts to practice making decisions for themselves without parents and teachers guiding their every move.

Arranging outdoor activities has never been straight forward, we have a dedicated team working very hard to look for the right activity and book with the organisers the venue and choose the right activity for the section for the benefit of our young people at 30th Walthamstow scout group.

We are urging the parents to facilitate the participation of their children and encourage them to attend any event or activities that the group is organising.

We all have other daily commitments like Arabic school, Madrasah, sports, etc…

But outdoor scouting activities are a one off in the year, attending activities will become mandatory, our young people have to attend at least one or two outdoor activities during the year otherwise their programme and badge work won’t be complete.

Attending the weekly indoor sessions will be never enough, scouting is mainly all about the outdoors activities. The Scouting Moto is always be prepared and if one can do it everybody can!
we are here to help.
